Home automation and IoT
I design and build home automation and IoT systems for homes, offices and venues: sensors, local automations, data and security, including at the edge.
- Who it is for
- Advanced home users, offices and hospitality venues that want reliable automations that work without internet.
- Where
- Pavia and Lombardy on site by appointment, across Italy and Europe remotely.
- How it starts
- A call, then a written proposal with scope, timing and cost.
Problems I solve
- Devices from different brands that do not talk to each other: Matter and MQTT help unify them.
- Security: connected devices exposed and never updated.
- Dependence on the vendor's cloud: local control is needed.
What you get
- System design and protocol selection
- Local automations with Home Assistant or Node-RED
- Separate network for devices and an update plan
In practice
I design and build home automation and IoT systems: sensors, actuators, protocols (MQTT, Zigbee, Modbus), local automations, data collection and dashboards, cloud integration. Where it makes sense I bring the same cloud native discipline to the edge: safe updates, observability, lightweight containers and compact clusters. Security, privacy and working without internet come first.
- Home automation for homes, offices and hospitality venues
- Gateways, MQTT, Home Assistant and Node-RED
- Edge computing with containers and lightweight Kubernetes
- Safe updates and network-isolated devices
Technologies
- Matter
- MQTT
- Zigbee
- Modbus
- Home Assistant
- Node-RED
- K3s
How I work
- Listening A call to understand the context, the problem and the constraints. No commitment.
- Proposal Scope, timing and cost written clearly, before anything starts.
- Delivery Small shippable steps, regular updates and code in your own repository.
- Handover Documentation and training: the work ends when your team can run it alone.
